Project Abstract
Project MISSION aims to create a cell factory chassis of Streptomyces rimosus with superior growth properties, high robustness, and a tuneable supply of energy, redox equivalents, and building blocks. In order to achieve this goal, we integrate system biology, synthetic biology, and bioprocess engineering to create novel synergies and increase development speed and performance. We expect that the project will establish a technology platform to turn this host strain into an industrial vehicle for the production of various bioactive natural products, including antibiotics and anti-cancer drugs.
MISSION is funded by the ERA CoBioTech partners: BMBF, MIZS, CDTI and co-funded by the European Union.
Project Start: May 2018 Duration: 36 months
Project Budget: Total Cost: 1.843.000 Euro, Funding: 1.745.000 Euro
