Project Abstract
Project SUSPHIRE aims to provide a sustainable, low-cost biomanufacturing platform for the commercial production of insect pheromones. It will establish methods for producing insect pheromones and their precursors in plants and filamentous fungi. (iii)The introduction of biotechnology approaches to pheromone production will expand the use of sex pheromones for insect pest control, reducing the environmental impact of agriculture.
SUSPHIRE is funded by the ERA CoBioTech partners: BMBF, MIZS, AEI, CDTI, UKRI-BBSRC and co-funded by the European Union.
Project Start: June 2018 Duration: 36 months
